Job Description

This is an opportunity for an architect or project coordinator/manager to start in a newly created team working under the director of operations to create best practice across architectural projects which include, residential, healthcare, science and technology – complex and community focused schemes with a build value of upwards of £50-100 million. The practice already has processes and systems in place, the new project management team will improve and introduce new ways of working suiting someone who wants to use their experience to add value to teams and projects.

Ideally this role will best suit an architect who is a part II or architect who wants to move away from the traditional path of architecture. This role is focused on the planning, finances, resources, budgeting and contractural part of the project. There is no design required in this role however you will be working side by side the design team and design partner in charge. It is an opportunity to carve out your skill set in process, communications, facilitation ensuring projects are profitable, successful and teams working sensible hours. Depending on the size of the project you will be running up to 5 projects under the direction and leadership of the operations director.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design team to ensure projects are profitable
  • Supporting project teams to ensure proper resourcing
  • Client contract throughout the full project life cycle
  • Create a scope of works based on internal processes
  • Highlighting project issues and solving
  • Contractural project responsibility
  • Making sure the team are settled, happy and motivated in the work they are doing
  • QA/QC throughout the project
  • Oversee all other administrative tasks for the project that does not include design.

Experience & skills

  • Part II or qualified architect
  • Knowledge and understanding of Revit, AutoCAD
  • Experience and knowledge of the design process able to follow and track projects throughout all RIBA stages
  • Experience of working with consultant teams
  • Experience and knowledge of building regulations
  • Experience of reviewing contracts
  • Knowledge of project planning, budgeting, resource planning or allocation, financial implications
  • Excellent communications skills presenting to external or internal teams
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Proactive attitude, strong planning and organisational skills

Architects will be learning from industry leaders globally, and will be empowered to take on as much responsibility as they are capable of realistically managing.

Office: Central London

Hours: Mon-Fri 9.30am – 6pm

Office policy: this role is hybrid working.
