Job Description

Would you like to live and work in a beautiful part of the country, close to the coast and Exmoor, in a successful architectural practice? If so, we would love to hear from you. The position will be full time, based in our Withycombe studio, where we work exclusively in the South West creating bespoke homes, working on predominantly high-end residential and traditional buildings.

Our studios are design-led with a collaborative design environment, where solving problems through good design is a fundamental part of practice life. We care about architecture, we value our team and we work in wonderful locations. We craft architecture to delight.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced architect, with potential for career progression within the practice, who is creative, focussed and who cares about good design, while thriving on the technical demands of delivering great architecture.

Role and Requirements

You must:

·      Be experienced in leading your own residential projects through all RIBA Stages of Work.

·      Have excellent design, creative, technical and communication skills and be able to work in a focussed manor.

·      Enjoy the challenge of designing and executing bespoke projects. Ideally you will have experience of working with traditional buildings and in sensitive locations.

·      Have a friendly approach and a willingness to work as a team player, as well as engage with clients and consultants.

·      Applicants will be required to demonstrate a sound understanding of, and a range of experience of working within, the UK planning and building regulations systems.

·      Have good organisational and time management skills.

·      Experience of using Vectorworks and Mac OS, would be preferable, but training can be provided to the right candidate.

The role will include:

·      Leading your own projects from concept through to completion, and directing other members of the team as needed.

·      Providing support and guidance to other members of the team.

·      Supporting the Management Team and engaging in the development and future of the practice.

Salary will be competitive, commensurate with your experience, and in line with RIBA guidelines. Additionally, as we are an Employee Ownership Trust, all staff have the opportunity to share in the future success of the practice, once they have been with the practice for a minimum 12 months.

This role provides an opportunity to join a thriving design-led studio, with opportunities for career progression, in a beautiful part of the UK. If you are interested, please email us at design@lcarchitects.co.uk with a covering letter explaining why you would like to work for us, your cv and examples of your own design work and technical construction drawings.
