Job Description
ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
KWL Architects Ltd is a medium sized award-winning Architects practice specializing in care
related projects across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to
join and strengthen our busy team in Newport, South Wales.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:-
The is a Full time, 37 hour, office based position within our office located at Newport,
South Wales.
Architectural Technologist with BTEC or Extended Diploma in Construction & the Built
Environment or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Built Environment Design, HNC, HND,
Higher Apprenticeship or Degree in Architectural Technology or Construction and the
Built Environment. Ideally having a Technician (TCIAT) membership of CIAT.
A minimum of three year’s UK office experience required.
Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written language.
Experienced and competent in the use of Architectural software including AutoCAD LT,
and ideally Revit. Knowledge and ability to use design software for example photoshop,
In-Design and PowerPoint is also an advantage but not essential.
Be able to demonstrate strong evidence of technical skills combined with a practical
common-sense approach to problem solving and the delivery of technical information.
Ability to produce high quality technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to work independently on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger projects.
When team working, be able to communicate effectively within a team and assist in
delivering technical solutions and construction packages for various projects.
Ability to take full responsibility of project running, liaising with clients and contractors /
consultants and technical advisors on the phone, via teams and in person.
A willingness to further learn and gain knowledge whilst possessing a can-do attitude.
Have a good working knowledge of the UK Building regulations, NHBC, building
warranty standards, and other Technical guides relevant to experience.
Must possess a UK driving licence and be able to attend Site visits within the UK when
projects are being procured and constructed on site.
