Job Description
An Award-Winning Architectural Practice with a wealth of experience in the heritage & conservation sector is currently seeking a Conservation Architect or Surveyor.
This role will be ideal for an experienced Conservation Architect or Surveyor that shares their team’s passion for preserving our country’s heritage & historical buildings, ensuring that these buildings remain an important part of our past and future.
Working with the Director of Conservation, this is an opportunity to join a highly motivated team, committed to providing clients with an individual service and striving for excellence in the care of historic buildings including scheduled monuments, churches, cathedrals, historic houses, castles, and forts.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Qualified Architect RIBA / ARB or Surveyor RICS
- AABC and/or RIBA Conservation Accreditation
- IHBC Member (preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience in conservation and heritage, listed buildings
- Computer literate and proficient in CAD (preferably Vectorworks)
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Experience liaising with clients and relevant stakeholders
- Experience in undertaking complex condition surveys of heritage sites
- Providing advice and recommendations on repairs, changes, and modern additions
- Understanding of traditional building materials
- Undertaking risk assessments for surveys and work
- Experience working on all types of listed buildings
- Experience working with archaeology and scheduled monuments
- Experience in heritage research and assessment
- Experience being a heritage expert within a design team, and sharing specialist knowledge
- Mobile working platform and harness training/certification (preferred)
This practice offers a competitive salary of £38,000 – £45,000 per annum depending on your experience while promoting work-life balance and supporting your professional development needs.
